The Mazda 767 is a prototype race car featured in the Choro-Q series; it appeared in Choro-Q HG 2, Choro-Q HG 3, and Choro-Q!.

Real Life Info

The Mazda 767 is a GTP-class sports prototype race car designed to run in the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the All Japan Sports Prototype Championship. The 767 was powered by a 13J Rotary Engine producing approximately 600 hp, mated to a 5-speed manual racing transmission.

The 767 debuted in 1988. Mazda entered two cars (along with a previous-generation 757) in the 1988 24 Hours of Le Mans that year, finishing 17th and 19th overall, but trailed the 757. Mazda finished 4th in the manufacturers' standings in the All Japan Sports Prototype Championship.

In 1989, the 767 was upgraded to the 767B. The new car debuted at the 1989 IMSA 24 Hours of Daytona, finishing 5th overall. Mazda entered two 767Bs and a 767 in the 24 Hours of Le Mans that year, with the two 767Bs finishing 7th and 9th and the 767 finishing 12th. As for the All Japan Sports Prototype Championship, Mazda didn't quite fare as well in 1989, dropping to 5th in the manufacturer's standings.

The 767B, along with two newer 787s, were entered in the 1990 24 Hours of Le Mans. The 767B was the only car of the three to finish, placing 20th overall.

Notes

  • Unlike the HG 2 and HG 3 versions, the Choro-Q! variant does not have the rear spoiler equipped as standard equipment. You will either have to buy the handling wing or the speed wing to equip it, but both spoilers are the same shape as the factory Mazda spoiler.
